What to Expect
In our second semester of Exploring Jobs we will look into all the jobs that are available in the Retail Industry, what skills are required and how we can apply for work in this sector.
The retail and wholesale trade industry includes businesses who sell in shops, online and by commission. Retail businesses purchase and on-sell goods to the general public, including: electrical, electronic and whitegoods. floor coverings, furniture and housewares. food and groceries.
Current SLES students should not apply for this course as the content will be covered in their usual day to day programming.
This course will run for 11 consecutive weeks with all clients booked in expected to attend each sessions. The course will take place on the following days and times –
- Mondays 9.00am to 12.00noon
- Mondays 12.30pm to 3.30pm
- Fridays 12.30pm to 3.30pm
As part of the course all clients will have the opportunity to work towards the following nationally recognised units of competency –
- SIRXCEG001 – Engage the customer
- SIRRMER001 – Produce visual merchandise displays
Shuttles
Johnny H Nepean outbound Shuttles will not be available for this event.

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the NSW Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
Pricing & Inclusions
The NDIS price covers all 12 weeks of the course and will be arranged through a Program of Supports.
Bookings close one day before the activity unless sold out prior.
