Workplace Expectations
This unit aims to empower clients with learning and development disabilities to navigate the workplace effectively. Through tailored learning experiences, we enhance understanding of workplace expectations, including rights, responsibilities, and appropriate behaviour. Our program also fosters continual development of essential skills for successful workplace participation. By fostering a supportive environment, we empower clients to pursue and excel in employment opportunities.
What You Will Learn:
Teamwork: Learn to collaborate effectively with others, contribute ideas, and support team goals through active participation in group activities and projects.
Professionalism: Understand the importance of professionalism in the workplace, including punctuality, reliability, and maintaining appropriate conduct and attire.
Following Instructions: Develop the ability to listen attentively, understand instructions accurately, and execute tasks according to guidelines provided.
Policies and Procedures: Familiarise yourself with workplace policies and procedures to ensure compliance and understanding of organisational rules and regulations.
Giving and Receiving Feedback: Practise giving constructive feedback to colleagues and receiving feedback gracefully, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.
Communicating with Colleagues and Customers: Hone communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and customers, including active listening, clarity in speech, and adapting communication styles as needed.
Difficult Conversations: Learn strategies for handling challenging conversations with professionalism, empathy, and respect, resolving conflicts or addressing sensitive issues constructively.
Time Management: Develop techniques for prioritising tasks, managing deadlines, and optimising productivity to make the most of available time in the workplace.
Workplace Safety: Understand the importance of workplace safety protocols, identify potential hazards, and take proactive measures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for yourself and others.
Problem Solving: Cultivate critical thinking skills to identify issues, analyse root causes, and implement effective solutions to overcome challenges encountered in the workplace.

All clients attending U-Learn will need to bring in their own prepared food for breaks including a lunch meal unless indicated when booking your space.

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the NSW Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
Pricing & Inclusions
The NDIS price covers all 11 weeks of the course and will be arranged through a Program of Supports.
Bookings close 3 days before the activity unless sold out prior.
