What to Expect

Work Readiness Program

Embark on a transformative journey with our comprehensive Work Readiness Program, designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to thrive in the workplace and beyond. Our program covers a wide range of essential topics, ensuring you are well-prepared for the world of work.

World of Work: Dive deep into what makes you employable, from understanding the critical employability skills to mastering time management in a work context. Learn to navigate the challenges of anxiety and self-sabotage, distinguish between professional and unprofessional behaviors, and appreciate the importance of personal hygiene and presentation.

Getting Around: Learn the ins and outs of traveling safely, including creating backup plans and understanding how to behave appropriately in various situations. This section covers everything from reading timetables to planning trips, with practical applications to ensure you’re ready to navigate the world.

Me as an Employee: Explore what it means to make positive decisions, take responsibility, and effectively give and receive feedback. This module focuses on health and wellbeing, motivation, and independence, preparing you to be a valuable employee.

Working with Others: Understand the dynamics of working in a team, including dealing with peer pressure, managing emotions, building resilience, and communicating effectively with colleagues and customers. Learn the importance of expressing opinions in a professional setting.

Prepare for Work: From identifying your skills and strengths to setting achievable goals, this module covers everything you need to prepare for the job market. Learn stress management techniques, job searching strategies, and the art of crafting application forms and resumes. We also cover professionalism, workplace ethics, following instructions, time management, and interview skills.

Managing Self: Focus on personal development, including taking responsibility, making decisions, self-advocacy, and effective communication. This module also covers money management, building confidence, and enhancing social skills.

Our Work Readiness Program is designed to support your transition into the workforce, offering a holistic approach to personal and professional development. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, our program provides the tools and support you need to succeed.

All clients attending U-Learn will need to bring in their own prepared food for breaks including a lunch meal.

Shuttles

Johnny H Shuttles will not be available for this event. If transport is required please speak to your local region directly.

Please note:

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.

Pricing & Inclusions

The NDIS price covers all 10 weeks of the course and will be arranged through a Program of Supports.

Bookings close 3 days before the activity unless sold out prior.
