Work Readiness Program

Welcome to ‘Work Readiness’, our supported learning program designed to empower individuals on their journey to securing meaningful employment. Throughout this course, participants will embark on a transformative learning experience, focusing on essential topics such as getting work ready, understanding group dynamics, effective workplace communication, meeting workplace expectations, and developing crucial skills for success in the workplace.

Getting Work Ready: Explore the fundamentals of preparing for the workforce, including identifying personal strengths, setting career goals, and acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge for employment.

My Groups: Understand the dynamics of group interactions and collaboration within various social and professional contexts, fostering a sense of belonging and support.

Communicating in the Workplace: Develop effective communication skills for navigating workplace interactions, including verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, and professional correspondence.

Workplace Expectations: Gain insight into workplace norms, policies, and professional conduct, understanding expectations regarding performance, behaviour, and ethics in the workplace.

Skills for Work: Acquire essential skills and competencies vital for success in the workplace, such as problem-solving, time management, teamwork, adaptability, and resilience.

Work Readiness offers individuals with learning and development disabilities a unique opportunity to build essential skills and confidence necessary for entering and thriving in the workforce. By exploring topics ranging from preparing for work and understanding group dynamics to effective workplace communication and meeting employer expectations, participants will gain invaluable knowledge and practical tools to pursue their career goals with determination and success.

All clients attending U-Learn will need to bring in their own prepared food for breaks including a lunch meal unless indicated when booking your space.

Shuttles

Johnny H Shuttles will not be available for this event. If transport is required please speak to your local region directly.

Please note:

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the Department of Health.

Pricing & Inclusions

The NDIS price will be determined by the group size and final ratios.

The NDIS price covers all 11 weeks of the course and will be arranged through a Program of Supports.
