Thursday – Engaging in Art and Creative Expression

Thursdays provide a calm and supportive space for participants to explore their creativity, strengthen fine motor skills, and express themselves through visual art and sensory-based activities.

Morning Focus
The day begins with guided creative activities such as drawing, painting, collage or craft. These sessions are designed to support emotional regulation, build concentration and encourage self-expression in a structured yet flexible format.

Afternoon Focus
Afternoons continue the focus on creativity with individual and group-based projects that develop fine motor coordination, visual planning and confidence in personal expression. Participants are encouraged to share their ideas and reflect on their work, building communication and social connection in the process.

Benefits of Attending Thursdays

  • Support emotional wellbeing through creative self-expression

  • Develop fine motor skills, focus and coordination

  • Build confidence in sharing ideas and exploring new materials

  • Learn in a sensory-aware, supportive group setting

Who is this for?
The Life Skills Day Program is designed for people aged 16 and over with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability. Working within a small group and led by an experienced facilitator, Johnny H Life Skills supports both school leavers and adults to build the capacity and skills needed for everyday living and increased community participation.

We do our best to minimise any changes but plans may be forced to change due to external staffing, school holiday programming and adverse weather.
