Shuttle Bus Service

Johnny H shuttle bus

Johnny H offers a shuttle bus service for program participants.

The Shuttle is available for certain activities only and will be included in the activity description if it is running. Simply choose the transport ticket option when booking and the cost will be calculated based on your pick up / drop off point.

On your support invoice, you will notice there are four lines to each shuttle run.

  • Travel km
  • Travel time
  • Transport km
  • Transport time

The difference between travel/transport?

  • Travel is when there is no client on the bus. Inbound is us heading out and outbound is us returning to Johnnys Place.
  • Transport is when there is a client on the bus. Inbound is us heading back and outbound is us heading out from Johnnys Place.

How are the km’s calculated?

  • Despite the shuttles running loops, to keep the invoices as fair as possible the actual Km’s are measured using the most direct route according to navigation software to the drop-off/pick-up location.
  • This Km distance is then charged for travel and transport at the applicable rate as listed in the NDIS Price Guide based on the highest ratio applicable for the length of the journey. For instance, if 5 clients get on the bus, but 4 get off at the first stop, all 5 clients get charged the 1:5 rate assuming a single staff member.
  • The Km charge for each shuttle, travel and transport, should always match for this reason. We ignore that many of the routes run as loops, so the actual km may be higher than that invoiced.

How are the times calculated?

  • Travel Time?
    • Despite the shuttles running loops, to keep the invoices as fair as possible the time is measured using the most direct route according to navigation software at approximately the time the trip is scheduled to occur to the drop-off/pick-up location.
    • This time is then charged for travel at the applicable rate as listed in the NDIS Price Guide based off the highest ratio applicable for the duration of the journey. For instance, if 5 clients get on the bus, but 4 get off at the first stop, all 5 clients get charged the 1:5 rate assuming a single staff member.
    • The code applied (Community or Centre) is an extension of the code that will be engaged at as part of the prebooked activity at Johnnys Place.
  • Transport Time?
    • The transport time is based off the actual time the client either gets on the bus for an inbound trip or off the bus for an outbound trip.
