The Lowdown
Get ready for an exhilarating day at the AIS with a “watch live” party for the paralympics on Saturday 31 August. Enjoy the excitement of the Games on the big screen at the newly revamped AIS Arena. It’s the perfect opportunity for the Canberra community to come together and celebrate our athletes.
What to Expect
Watch the Games: Experience the thrill of the Paralympics with live broadcasts and replays on big screens, complete with comfy bean bags for ultimate viewing comfort.
Delicious Food: We’ll take a packed lunch and snacks to enjoy while we watch.
AIS Tour: Take advantage of a free behind-the-scenes tour of the AIS and discover where Australian champions train and prepare for their biggest moments.
Interactive Exhibits: Enjoy complimentary admission to Sportex, an interactive sporting exhibit where you can engage with sports activities and learn more about the athletic world.
Meet the Champions: Meet and greet past Paralympians, get up close with their medals, and hear their inspiring stories.
Fun for All: From face painting to entertainment, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained. Don’t forget to snap a photo at the Games-themed wall and participate in a quiz with our friends from the French Embassy.
Sports Showcase: Engage with various sports organisations including Tennis ACT, Basketball ACT, Hockey ACT, Water Polo ACT, Cycling ACT, Baseball ACT, and ACT Rugby, showcasing their sports and activities.
Celebrate the Games in style at the AIS watch parties and support our athletes in a fun, interactive, and community-focused event!
Price include activity and lunch. Other personal expenses are not included.
Pricing & Inclusions
The Participant price covers the cost of food/drinks as outlined in the activity description and any entry/activity costs.
The NDIS price includes support and return transport from Johnnys Place.
Bookings close one day before the activity unless sold out prior.

Shuttles
Johnny H Shuttles will be available for this event, simply just choose your transport option when booking. Shuttle time and cost will be calculated according to your pick up / drop off point. The cost of the shuttle service is not included in the published predicted NDIS cost. More information about our shuttle service can be found here.
Please note:
* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers and the individual support required to increase the capacity of the individual making the booking to that required to actively participate in this event.
* We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for community-based activities and 1:5 for those held inside Johnny’s Place, at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide.
* Final ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:5.
