Join Johnny H for an unforgettable 11-day journey through Japan, where ancient traditions blend seamlessly with modern wonders. From the bustling streets of Osaka to the serene temples of Kyoto and the towering skyscrapers of Tokyo, this adventure offers a rich tapestry of experiences that cater to all interests.

Day 1: Sydney to Osaka

Depart from Sydney on an overnight flight to Osaka, Japan’s vibrant culinary capital.

Day 2: Osaka Arrival 

With an early morning arrival, we will transfer to Tokyo Station to catch the Bullet Train to Osaka. We will settle into our accommodation and enjoy some downtime to recover from our travels. 

Day 3: Osaka City Tour

Explore Osaka’s dynamic cityscape, visiting iconic landmarks such as Osaka Castle and the bustling Dotonbori district, renowned for its neon lights and street food.

Day 4: Universal Studios 

Experience the magic of Universal Studios with thrilling rides, shows, and attractions that cater to all ages and interests.

Day 5: Kyoto Day Trip

Travel to Kyoto, the heart of Japan’s cultural heritage. Visit historic temples, traditional tea houses, and stroll through the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.

Day 6: Tokyo City Tour

Board the Shinkansen bullet train for a swift and scenic journey to Tokyo, witnessing the picturesque landscapes en route.

Dive into Tokyo’s eclectic mix of old and new, from the historic Asakusa Temple and its bustling markets to the modern architecture of the Shibuya Crossing.

Day 7: Shenjuku by Night 

Enjoy a slow start to the day with a free morning to rest, relax at the hotel, or explore at your own pace depending on your interests and energy levels.

In the evening, step into the vibrant energy of Shinjuku. Explore its lively entertainment district, soak up the neon-lit atmosphere, and enjoy dinner at a local izakaya. With karaoke bars, arcades, and quirky shops, there’s plenty to discover after dark in one of Tokyo’s most iconic neighbourhoods.

Day 8: Tokyo Disneyland

Immerse yourself in the enchantment of Tokyo Disneyland, where classic attractions and parades await.

Day 9: Tokyo DisneySea

Discover the unique wonders of Tokyo DisneySea, a park exclusive to Japan, offering nautical-themed rides and shows.

Day 10: Shibuya Sky, Tokyo Skytree & Harajuku

For those who wish to take part in this optional activity, you can experience Shibuya Sky – a premier open-air observation deck located atop the Shibuya Scramble Square building. Standing approximately 229 metres above ground, it offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the city and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. 

You can also choose to experience Tokyo Skytree – the tallest structure in Japan, standing at 634 metres. Located in Sumida, it serves as a broadcasting tower and features observation decks offering spectacular panoramic views of the city.

For those who don’t enjoy heights, we will head off on a colourful adventure  through Harajuku, Tokyo’s hub of youth culture and fashion, and visit the serene Meiji Shrine set within a lush forest.

Day 11: Asakusa Temple and Markets 

Spend your final full day soaking up the atmosphere of old Tokyo with a visit to Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. Wander Nakamise Street, lined with stalls selling traditional snacks and souvenirs. Take time to reflect, shop for gifts, and enjoy a relaxed farewell dinner with the group.

Day 12: Tokyo to Sydney

Conclude your Japanese adventure with a return flight to Sydney, bringing back memories to cherish.

Important Information

This trip involves a high level of walking each day, including navigating stairs, public transport, and uneven surfaces. To enjoy the experience safely and comfortably, participants should feel confident managing extended periods on foot. To ensure the wellbeing of all travellers, participation in this trip is subject to an individual risk assessment.

Japan remains a largely cash-based society, and many shops, restaurants, and attractions do not accept card payments. You’ll need to feel comfortable using cash throughout the trip. Our team will be on hand to assist with currency exchange and cash withdrawals as needed.

The Participant Cost for this trip will cover dinners only. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks will be at your own expense. This empowers participants to enjoy the freedom to choose meals that meet their individual tastes, dietary needs, and budget.

While we will endeavour to secure western-style accommodation wherever possible, there may be circumstances beyond our control where traditional-style rooms are provided. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

Pricing & Inclusions

The Participant price covers the cost of airfares, food/drinks as outlined in the activity description and any entry/activity costs. This cost is subject to change: if there is a change in final pricing of +/- 5% this price will be adjusted.

A deposit of $300 is required within 7 days of booking. The remaining cost will be due in four instalments set out in a payment schedule once your booking is complete. Please refer to our Cancellation Policy prior to booking.

The participant cost between regions will vary slightly, due to additional travel required to and from reach our departure point as well as any additional accommodation either side of the trip.

The NDIS price includes support and return transport from Sydney Airport International Terminal based on July 2025 pricing. NDIS pricing will differ for each region due to the additional support required to and from your departure point.

The Non Face to Face estimate is based on 9 travellers and July 2025 pricing.

The final support ratio for each client will be determined through an individual assessment to ensure they can participate in the trip safely and without compromise.

Bookings close one week before the activity unless sold out prior.

Please note:

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* To ensure the wellbeing of all travellers, participation in this trip is subject to an individual risk assessment.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers and the individual support required to increase the capacity of the individual making the booking to match the rest of the group.
* We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for Global Adventures at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide.
* Final ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:4.
