Our Independent Living Experience is all about giving you the tools, confidence and real-life practice to grow more independent—while having a great time with friends.
This short weekend getaway is a chance to press pause on everyday life and discover what you’re truly capable of. With the support of a small group and an experienced team leader, you’ll work through daily tasks and fun challenges that help you build the skills to live more independently—one step at a time.
Whether you’re learning to plan a meal, budget for groceries, or simply speak up and make your own choices, every part of the trip is designed to support your NDIS goals in a practical and meaningful way.

With only three participants per trip, there’s space for everyone to be heard, supported, and encouraged. It’s not just about ticking boxes—it’s about discovering what’s possible and believing in yourself.

Please note:
* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the NSW Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers. We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for community-based activities and 1:5 for those held inside Johnny’s Place, at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide. Ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:5.
