Cooking and Recipe Development
Mondays focus on building confidence in the kitchen through hands-on cooking while developing a personalised recipe book to support independence at home.
Session Focus
Participants engage in practical cooking activities while creating their own recipe book. Sessions combine preparing simple meals with developing written and visual recipes, including ingredient lists, step-by-step instructions and basic layout design. Participants practise skills such as chopping, measuring and using kitchen equipment safely, while also building organisation and planning skills through recipe development.
Activities are structured to support independence, routine and confidence, while encouraging teamwork, communication and problem-solving in a supportive environment.

Who is This For?
The Life Skills Day Program is designed for people aged 16 and over with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability. Working within a small group and led by an experienced facilitator, Johnny H Life Skills supports both school leavers and adults to build the capacity and skills needed for everyday living and increased community participation.
Meals, Transport & More
The NDIS price covers the duration of the term and will be arranged through a Program of Supports.
Bookings can be made at any time during the term.
The NDIS price includes support only.
Johnny H can consider booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self Managed, Plan Managed or Agency Managed.
A standard cost of $2.50 applies to all participants to cover the cost of course materials and certain activities, which are not covered by the NDIS.
Participants can bring their own lunch or enjoy a meal prepared in-house for a small fee which covers the cost of morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and drinks, all prepared fresh each day. Lactose and gluten free options are available – you may indicated your dietary needs when booking.
For those who bring their own meals, please be aware that we are a nut-free centre – for the health and safety of all participants, please avoid bringing foods that contain nuts.
Shuttle bus transport is available – please choose your preferred options when booking. Shuttle time and cost will be calculated according to your pick up / drop off point.
We do our best to minimise any changes but plans may be forced to change due to external staffing, school holiday programming and adverse weather.
