Cooking Skills & Community Engagement
Mondays focus on community participation, environmental responsibility and practical cooking skills that support independence in everyday life.
Morning Focus
The morning session centres on Lids for Kids. Participants contribute to a community recycling initiative that supports social inclusion and meaningful volunteer work through the collection and recycling of plastic bottle lids.
Participants learn about environmental responsibility, community contribution and the value of working together towards a shared goal. Activities encourage participation, communication and a sense of purpose while engaging in meaningful community-based tasks.
Afternoon Focus
The afternoon session focuses on cooking skills and creating a personalised recipe book. Participants learn practical kitchen skills such as chopping, slicing, measuring ingredients and using kitchen equipment safely. Sessions also support reading, comprehension, planning and organisation as participants follow recipes and record their favourite meals.
