Get into the festive spirit with a fun-packed three-day adventure in the Hunter Region of NSW in the lead-up to Christmas.
Enjoy ocean swims, dazzling light displays, local wildlife, and sweet treats – with transport, meals and good times all included.
Day 1 – Friday, 05 December 2025
Departing Penrith at 9am, we’ll travel north to Maitland, stopping in Newcastle for lunch and a swim at the iconic Ocean Baths. After checking in at our accommodation, we’ll enjoy a group dinner followed by a visit to the Hunter Valley Christmas Lights – a magical evening of sparkling displays and holiday cheer.
Day 2 – Saturday, 06 December 2025
After breakfast at the motel, we’ll return to Newcastle for a full day of sightseeing and summer fun. Explore the street art trail, visit the museum and lighthouse, enjoy lunch together, and cool off with a beach swim. We’ll head back to Maitland for a relaxed dinner and share stories from the day.
Day 3 – Sunday, 07 December 2025
Our final day takes us to Hunter Valley Wildlife Park for a morning of animal encounters, followed by a sweet stop at the Chocolate Factory. After lunch, we’ll hop back on the bus for the journey home to Penrith – with plenty of laughs and carols along the way!

Pricing & Inclusions
Nepean & Blue Mountains: NDIS Cost = $1,824.33 (includes Non Face to Face Cost = $303.64); Participant Contribution = $595.28.
Canberra & Monaro: NDIS Cost = $2,276.88 (includes Non Face to Face Cost = $303.64); Participant Contribution = $595.28.
Gold Coast: NDIS Cost = $2,151.48 (includes Non Face to Face Cost = $303.64); Participant Contribution = $895.28 (includes return flights to NSW).
The Participant price covers the cost of all accomodation food/drinks as outlined in the activity description, any entry/activity costs. Please be aware that the client contribution cost component of this trip is subject to our Cancellation Policy.
The NDIS includes support and return transport from Johnny’s Place. Pricing will vary depending on the region you are travelling from. The NDIS cost component is subject to the standard NDIS cancellation terms.
The Non Face to Face estimate is based on 15 travellers and July 2025 pricing. This price will be adjusted based the final number of travellers.
Bookings close one week before the activity unless sold out prior.

Please note:
* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* Participation in any activity is subject to an individual risk assessment to ensure safety and suitability. The required level of support, including client-to-worker ratios, will be determined based on the client’s needs and the nature of the activity.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the NSW Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers and the individual support required to increase the capacity of the individual making the booking to match the rest of the group.
* We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for community-based activities and for those held inside Johnny’s Place, at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide.
* Final ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:5.
