The Lowdown
Join us for a six-day trip to Queensland’s Gold Coast, where sun-kissed beaches, exciting theme parks, and serene hinterlands set the stage for an unforgettable experience. From the lively streets of Surfers Paradise to the peaceful Mount Tamborine, each day is filled with new experiences that promise to make lasting memories in one of Australia’s favourite destinations.
Day 1: Travel to the Gold Coast
- Depart from Johnny’s Place in Penrith and head towards the Gold Coast.
- Check into your hotel and enjoy a BBQ dinner to start your holiday relaxed and refreshed.
Day 2: Exploring Surfers Paradise
- Have a relaxed breakfast at the hotel before exploring Surfers Paradise.
- Visit Ripley’s Believe It or Not! to see its intriguing and odd exhibits.
- Take the Hop on Hop Off Ferry to explore the city from the water.
- Enjoy classic fish and chips at Marina Mirage, with views of the water.
- End the day with the Australian Outback Spectacular, a dinner show that celebrates Australian heritage.
Day 3: Mount Tamborine, Gold Coast Hinterland
- After breakfast, explore the Gold Coast Hinterland with a visit to Mount Tamborine.
- Lunch at Eagle Heights Pub offers expansive coastal views.
- Visit the spectacular Curtis Falls and enjoy a walk through Gallery Walk, noted for its local arts and eateries.
- Dinner at Mario’s Italian, known for excellent pizzas.
Day 4: Thrills at Movie World
- Spend the day at Warner Bros. Movie World after breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy rides, meet characters, and see shows.
- Laidback group dinner back at the hotel.
Day 5: Adventure at Dreamworld
- Start with breakfast, then a full day at Dreamworld, filled with rides, shows, and animal encounters.
- Dinner at Mermaid Beach Surf Club offers a chance to enjoy the local scene and food.
Day 6: Return to Penrith
- Enjoy one final breakfast on the Gold Coast before driving back to Penrith.

Pricing & Inclusions
The Participant price covers the cost of all accomodation, food/drinks as outlined in the activity description, and any entry/activity costs.
The NDIS price includes support and return transport from Johnnys’ Place in Penrith and is an ESTIMATE ONLY. The NDIS price shown is based on 1 July 2024 pricing. The cost will vary for those travelling from Canberra.
The Non Face to Face price is based on 18 travellers and July 2024 pricing. This price will adjusted based on the final number of travellers.
The final ratio of the client booking will be determined by an individual assessment to determine the level of support the individual will require to participate in the trip uncompromised.
Bookings close one week before the activity unless sold out prior.

Please note:
* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers and the individual support required to increase the capacity of the individual making the booking to match the rest of the group.
* We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for community-based activities and for those held inside Johnny’s Place, at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide.
* Final ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:5.
