It’s time to celebrate the amazing parents and carers in our community — with a special Thank You Dinner at Johnny’s Place! For one night, the centre will be transformed into a restaurant where our clients will prepare, serve, and clean up after the meal, with support from staff. It’s a heartfelt way to show appreciation while teaching valuable daily living skills.

The Lowdown

It’s time to celebrate the amazing parents and carers in our community — with a special Thank You Dinner at Johnny’s Place! For one night, the centre will be transformed into a restaurant where our clients will prepare, serve, and clean up after the meal, with support from staff. It’s a heartfelt way to show appreciation while teaching valuable daily living skills.

What to Expect

A Unique Dining Experience: Clients will take on the role of chefs, wait staff, and helpers, creating a warm, restaurant-style evening just for you.

Teaching Life Skills: From cooking and teamwork to cleaning up after the meal, this activity offers clients hands-on experience in practical daily living skills — all while saying thank you in the most meaningful way.

Schedule: Clients will need to arrive at 1:00pm to set up and prepare the meals. Parents and carers are invited to arrive at 4:30pm to enjoy the dinner. Up to three guests per person are welcome to join.

Delicious Meals: Your $30.00 contribution covers both your meal and your client’s meal. The menu will include entrée, main, dessert, and refreshments throughout the evening, with the final menu available closer to the date so you can pre-order your selections.

A Night of Appreciation: Relax, enjoy a beautifully prepared meal, and let our clients show their gratitude for everything you do.

This isn’t just a dinner — it’s a celebration of care, teamwork, and gratitude, all served up in style at Johnny’s Place.

Pricing Includes:

  • Meal for you and a client ($30.00 contribution)

  • Entrée, main, dessert, and refreshments

  • Hands-on restaurant-style experience led by clients with staff support

Pricing & Inclusions

The Participant price covers the cost of food/drinks as outlined in the activity description and any entry/activity costs.

The NDIS price includes the cost of support.

Bookings close one day before the activity unless sold out prior.

Shuttles

Johnny H Nepean Shuttles will be available for this event, simply just choose your transport option when booking. Shuttle time and cost will be calculated according to your pick up / drop off point. The cost of the shuttle service is not included in the published predicted NDIS cost. More information about our shuttle service can be found here.

Please note:

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers and the individual support required to increase the capacity of the individual making the booking to match the rest of the group.
* We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for community-based activities and 1:5 for those held inside Johnny’s Place, at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide.
* Final ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:5.
