Monday – Life Skills: Cooking
Mondays are all about building confidence in the kitchen. Participants learn practical cooking skills that support independent living while exploring healthy, tasty meals they can make at home.
Morning Focus
The morning centres on hands-on cooking. Participants learn how to choose ingredients, follow simple recipes, measure and prepare food, and cook safely. Each session highlights everyday kitchen tasks such as chopping, using appliances correctly, working with heat, and cleaning up afterwards.
Afternoon Focus
The afternoon session continues the focus on practical food skills. Participants revisit key techniques, prepare a second recipe, or practise food budgeting and meal planning. Sessions are paced to match individual abilities and encourage teamwork, communication and routine building.
PM alternative: Community Walk
On selected weeks, the group may take part in a local community walk. This provides time outdoors, gentle exercise and an opportunity to build social confidence in a relaxed setting.
