One day each month the Model Park opens it’s gate to non members for exploring. We’ll be able to take a ride on their model steam team, as well as enjoying their static steam displays, we’ll watch model airplanes and helicopters as well as taking a go on the slot cars. There’s a pond where we can see the model boats as well as a car track where we’ll be able to watch them race each other as well.

What to Expect

Sydney Society of Model Engineers Inc. (SSME) is the oldest model engineering club in Australia and the oldest continuously operating Model Engineering Club in the World. The aim of the society is to promote all forms of model engineering.
One day each month the park opens it’s gate to non members for exploring. We’ll be able to take a ride on their model steam team, as well as enjoying their static steam displays, we’ll watch model airplanes and helicopters as well as taking a go on the slot cars. There’s a pond where we can see the model boats as well as a car track where we’ll be able to watch them race each other as well.
We’ll enjoy a picinc in the park for lunch utilising their BBQ facilities and have snacks through the day as we take in the great surroundings and demonstrations.

Price includes park entry and lunch. Other personal expenses are not included.

Pricing & Inclusions

The Participant price covers the cost of food/drinks as outlined in the activity description and any entry/activity costs.

The NDIS price includes support and return transport from Johnnys Place.

Bookings close one day before the activity unless sold out prior.

Shuttles

Johnny H Nepean Shuttles will be available for this event, simply just choose your transport option when booking. Shuttle time and cost will be calculated according to your pick up / drop off point. The cost of the shuttle service is not included in the published predicted NDIS cost. More information about our shuttle service can be found here.

Please note:

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the NSW Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers. We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for community-based activities and 1:5 for those held inside Johnny’s Place, at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide. Final ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:5.
