Morning – Social Connection: Why We Need to Connect
The morning session explores the importance of social connection as a key part of wellbeing and personal development. Participants will learn why building and maintaining positive relationships matters, and how connection contributes to growth, happiness, and resilience.
Afternoon – Health & Wellbeing: Swimming
In the afternoon, the focus shifts to swimming as a way to build health, confidence, and social interaction. Participants will practise safety in and around the water, follow instructions in a structured activity, and enjoy the benefits of exercise for fitness and wellbeing. Swimming also provides opportunities to build teamwork and social skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Who is This For?
The Life Skills Day Program is designed for people aged 16 and over with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability. Working within a small group and led by an experienced facilitator, Johnny H Life Skills supports both school leavers and adults to build the capacity and skills needed for everyday living and increased community participation.
Meals, Transport & More
The NDIS price covers the duration of the term and will be arranged through a Program of Supports.
Bookings can be made at any time during the term.
The NDIS price includes support only.
Johnny H can consider booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self Managed, Plan Managed or Agency Managed.
A standard cost of $2.50 applies to all participants to cover the cost of course materials and certain activities, which are not covered by the NDIS.
On Thursdays, the group takes part in a hydrotherapy pool session at a cost of $15 per person.
Participants can bring their own lunch or enjoy a meal prepared in-house for a small fee which covers the cost of morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and drinks, all prepared fresh each day. Lactose and gluten free options are available – you may indicated your dietary needs when booking.
For those who bring their own meals, please be aware that we are a nut-free centre – for the health and safety of all participants, please avoid bringing foods that contain nuts.
Shuttle bus transport is available – please choose your preferred options when booking. Shuttle time and cost will be calculated according to your pick up / drop off point.
We do our best to minimise any changes but plans may be forced to change due to external staffing, school holiday programming and adverse weather.
