The Lowdown
Transform a forgotten piece of furniture into a stunning, unique creation at this hands-on workshop at Johnny’s Place. Over a series of weeks, you’ll learn valuable skills in upcycling, reupholstering, and bringing new life to old pieces, with a wonderful finished product.
What to Expect
Furniture Hunting: Kick off the series by choosing a piece of furniture to revamp. We’ll take a trip to op shops for inspiration and Bunnings for materials.
Reupholstery Techniques: Learn how to reupholster chairs, selecting fabrics, and mastering the art of making them look brand new.
Upcycling Projects: Transform tables or other pieces into stylish and functional statement items with creative and practical techniques.
Step-by-Step Guidance: Work on your project each week with support and advice, gaining confidence in DIY skills.
Enjoy a creative, collaborative environment as we work together to make old furniture shine again. This is the perfect workshop to learn something new, unleash your creativity, and leave with a sense of accomplishment!

Pricing & Inclusions
The Participant price covers the cost of food/drinks as outlined in the activity description and any entry/activity costs.
The NDIS price includes support.
Bookings close one day before the activity unless sold out prior.

Shuttles
Johnny H Shuttles will be available for this event, simply just choose your transport option when booking. Shuttle time and cost will be calculated according to your pick up / drop off point. The cost of the shuttle service is not included in the published predicted NDIS cost. More information about our shuttle service can be found here.
Please note:
* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.
* Funding will be calculated based on the final attendance numbers and the individual support required to increase the capacity of the individual making the booking to match the rest of the group.
* We predict and aim for a ratio of 1:3 for community-based activities and for those held inside Johnny’s Place, at the rate set out in the current NDIS price guide.
* Final ratios will fall between 1:2 and 1:5.
