In the afternoon, Me As an Employee explores how personal choices impact work opportunities, professionalism, and career growth. A valuable day for developing essential workplace and life skills.

Thursday Program

Our Thursday program is designed to enhance teamwork and workplace readiness. The morning session focuses on working with others, helping clients build strong cooperative skills, while the afternoon session explores personal responsibility and decision-making in the workplace.


Morning Session: Working With Others

The objective of this unit is to provide opportunities for clients to develop the knowledge and skills required to work cooperatively with others and build effective workplace relationships. Clients will explore teamwork, communication, and strategies for creating positive workplace interactions.

What You Will Learn

  • The Importance of Teamwork: Understand why working together is essential in both personal and professional settings.
  • Effective Communication: Develop verbal and non-verbal communication skills to collaborate successfully.
  • Understanding Different Perspectives: Learn to appreciate diverse opinions and work constructively with others.
  • Building Positive Workplace Relationships: Discover how to foster respectful and productive interactions with colleagues and supervisors.

Afternoon Session: Me As an Employee

The objective of this unit is to provide clients with knowledge and skills to help them make wise life choices. Clients will learn how their decisions impact their work opportunities, personal growth, and overall life direction.

What You Will Learn

  • Understanding Workplace Roles: Recognise expectations and responsibilities in different job roles.
  • Decision-Making and Consequences: Learn how daily choices affect long-term career and life outcomes.
  • Personal Responsibility: Explore how accountability and work ethic influence success in the workplace.
  • Workplace Behaviour and Attitudes: Understand what makes a great employee and how to maintain professionalism.
  • Balancing Work and Life: Develop strategies for managing time, stress, and personal commitments.
  • Self-Reflection and Growth: Identify areas for improvement and set goals for personal and professional development.
  • Career Progression: Learn how to take initiative and create opportunities for future success.

Note: Activities in both units may be adapted to meet individual needs. Accommodations, such as 1:1 support, working with peers, and additional time, can be arranged to ensure a supportive and accessible learning experience.

All clients attending this program are required to bring prepared food for breaks, including lunch, unless otherwise noted when booking.

Johnny H Nepean Shuttles will not be available for this event. If transport is required please speak to your local region directly.

* This event is designed for active participants with a mild to moderate intellectual or developmental disability.
* This event will be conducted in compliance with COVID safe practices and any vaccination requirements as outlined by the NSW Department of Health.
* Johnny H can only accept booking requests from those whose NDIS funds are Self or Plan Managed. If your plan is Agency Managed, please call 1300 053 001 to discuss your options.

Pricing & Inclusions

The NDIS price will be updated when the new price guide is released in July 2025.

The NDIS price covers the duration of the term and will be arranged through a Program of Supports.

Participants can bring their own lunch or enjoy a meal prepared in-house for a small fee.
